Ex back “gurus” may tell you that in a breakup it’s you versus your ex. This promotes a use of mind games and jealousy tactics to win your ex back. Do these tactics work or is there a better way?
You versus your ex
During a breakup many people have the mentality that it is them versus their ex. This scenario pits you against your ex as enemies. You end up using mind games, jealousy tactics and other non-productive techniques to get your ex back. Instead of trying to reunite with your ex you are trying to win a mind game.
Mind Games are a losing battle
As long as you are putting yourself against your ex and using negative tactics to win him or her back, you are going to lose. Constant mind games is a lot of work to put in over the long haul. It begets plotting and scheming in order to get your ex back and in order to keep your ex in the relationship.
Building a better relationship
You want your relationship to be a safe harbor. You want to relax and be yourself around your ex if you are going to embark on a new relationship with them. The “you versus your ex” mentality will both kill your chances of getting your ex back as well kill your chances of having a good relationship in the long term.
When it comes to getting your ex back many teachers suggest mind games and other strange tactics that promote a “you versus your ex” mentality.
While mind games and jealousy tactics may bring your ex back for a time, they do not lend themselves well to building a healthy relationship in the long term. If you want your ex back you need to stop thinking of him or her as the enemy and forget the mind games. You need to focus on building a better relationship that you can relax and be yourself in.
